How do I get my site listed in the search engine results?

There are two principle ways to be listed in search engine results: 1) pay for inclusion 2) wait for the search spider to crawl your website and add it to the index.

The inclusion method you should follow depends on two factors: a) how quickly the site needs to be listed. b) your budget. The Kolberg Inclusion Matrix should help you decide which inclusion method to use.

Inclusion Matrix

Wait to be crawled- In order to be crawled your site needs to have inbound links from other sites already listed in the index. The more links you can get the better. Think of a link as a vote of confidence, the more votes your site has the more likely the search engine is to want to include it in its database.

Pay per click- Using pay per click you can have your site listed within days or even hours depending on the workload of the reviewing editors. For more information on pay per click refer back to the Knowledge Base.

Pay for inclusion- Pay for inclusion involves paying a set amount per URL for a search engine spider to visit your pages on a regular basis. For more information on pay for inclusion refer back to the Knowledge Base.
